There are many new design trends that have carried over from 2021 to 2022. Having a green kitchen is a good example of a popular trend in 2021 that has stuck around for 2022. The color green carries over into the trend of adding color to your home by using plants.

While keeping plants alive might seem difficult, do not let that discourage you. Eventually, you will be able to find the perfect plant for your home and your green thumb. There are many ways to decorate your home with plants whether they are real or fake. We are here to help make sure you find the perfect plant for the inside or outside of your home.

Vines

A popular plant trend has been adding vines to different spaces throughout the insides of homes. Because vines are versatile, they make for great decor. You can wrap them around mirrors to add color to a room or hang them on walls. Many people hang the vines in their bedrooms to add more color to a simple room. A great feature about vines is they can be fake. Therefore, you do not have to worry about tending to them if you have a busy day-to-day life.

Meyer Lemon Tree

Lemon trees are great plants for your home whether it’s indoors or outdoors. Along with any other fruit tree, they will add pops of color to the interior or the exterior of your home. The Meyer Lemon tree produces a hybrid of a lemon and a mandarin orange. While the Meyer Lemon tree grows fruits, there are also flowers that blossom which makes it a perfect addition of color. They survive well indoors if there is plenty of sunlight. We recommend putting this plant around windows or below a skylight. In general, any type of fruit tree will be the perfect addition outside your home.

Cast-Iron Plant

Also known as Aspidistra Elatior, the cast-iron plant is a perfect addition to your new home. This plant is great if you need to add a little bit more life and color to another room inside your home. What makes this plant easy-going is its ability to survive in low to medium sunlight exposure. For people who are terrified of killing a plant or do not have a green thumb, the cast-iron plant is a perfect way to get started. Because it can survive with medium to low light exposure, it is okay if you forget to water it every once in a while. To maintain the plant’s life, it is suggested to water the plant every 7 to 10 days.

Snake Plant

If you prefer a contemporary style throughout your home then the snake plant is perfect for you. This plant is pleasing to the eye because it stands straight up. When discussing the care of the plant, you are able to place the plant anywhere you’d like. This plant would look beautiful in a nice bathroom and make you feel like you are enjoying a spa day. On the plus side, taking care of this plant is easy. You only need to water it when the soil is completely dry, which could be every week or so. The snake plant also does not require direct sunlight at all times, giving you more options of where to put it.

Lavender

Lavender is a beautiful plant to have outdoors around your house year-round. The scent of lavender is one of the most popular household scents. Luckily, these plants grow year-round. Therefore, by having lavender growing year-round outside your home, you will always be able to bring some inside to make your home smell so fresh. Another plus side is the beautiful lavender color. The pretty lavender will look great around your house and will become an asset to your home. Not to mention, you can always use your lavender for a great bath and relaxing night.

Hydrangeas

If your yard is surrounded by bushes, hydrangeas are a great way to add color to the exterior of your home. They do well with the morning sun but do not like direct sunlight. Therefore, if hydrangeas are up against your house it allows for them to receive partial shade throughout the sunny days. This will keep them alive and blooming longer. They normally bloom from the beginning of spring until the fall. You will know spring is coming when you see the beautiful hydrangeas begin to blossom.
